~Gratitude~

Even in the darkest moments can we find something to be grateful for.
Family, friends, someplace to live, somewhere we belong, our body, our breath, nature, food, light, music, dance, books, movies etc. Whatever it can be, whatever form it comes in, gratitude can make the dark less scary. Even chase it away.
This is something I have learned for myself recently. After a long, long period full of heavy burdens and a dark mindset I have realised that I have so much to be thankful for. When my thoughts and feelings come from a place of gratitude, the dark and hurtful thoughts don’t have the same impact on me. I can accept that they are there, work through them and don’t let them control me.
